BIO
Tom Whelan is an experienced Producer and Unit Production Manager based in New York. After completing his MFA in Screenwriting and Directing at Columbia University he began working as a Location Manager on Indie features such as Kids, I Shot Andy Warhol, Happiness, and The Royal Tenenbaums.
Tom advanced through the ranks and soon became established as a UPM and then Producer on network television series including "Blue Bloods," "Hostages," and the entire 100-episode run of "Gotham." He currently works as a Line Producer in the scripted streaming space.
A 28-year member of the DGA, Tom is the 2025 recipient of the Guild's Frank Capra Achievement Award in recognition of his career and service to its National Board, negotiating committees and member councils. An active volunteer, mentor and educator, he is a Trustee of the Directors Guild Foundation, and serves on the Board of Directors of The Furniture Sharehouse in Westchester County, NY.
